Why PLAYIDEAs

Memorizing is not enough. Building is.

Tomorrow's most valuable skills are thinking creatively, filtering what matters and solving real problems. Children learn those best through expert-guided play, so every PLAYIDEAs class is hands-on, structured and built around a challenge to solve.

01

Creative thinking

Coordinating eyes, hands and mind while imagining, designing and refining their own builds.

02

Real science

Discovering physical science through observation, reasoning, prediction and testing.

03

Problem solving

Modeling real-life mechanisms with logic and creativity, then improving them step by step.

04

AI & technology

Code, sensors and real AI: how machines see, learn and decide, and how to use that power wisely.

Programs

Four stages. One continuous journey.

Each program is designed for its age group and builds on the one before, so students grow from playful exploration to real engineering without gaps.

Early Years

Little Builders

Story-led lessons introduce a theme, then children build it, make it move and finish with free-build time for their own designs. Early math and first engineering ideas, learned through play.

  • Patterns, colors, counting, position, ordering and comparison
  • First machines: gears, pulleys and balance
  • Listening, imagination and confidence to create

Foundation · Levels F1–F4

Creative Machine Design

A systematic series built on three core themes: force and structure, wheels and axles, and gears and pulleys. Each lesson sets a real-world scenario, and students engineer a motorized model to meet it.

  • Structures, transportation, energy and everyday machines
  • From scientific principles to applying them
  • First coding and first AI ideas: how machines sense and decide

Advanced · Levels R1–R4

Robotics, Coding & AI

Students brainstorm solutions, then bring them to life through the robot design process: controllers, sensors, motors and code. Along the way they build and experiment with AI, learning how it works, where it fails and how to use it responsibly.

  • Sensors, motors and programming, from Word Blocks to Python
  • Hands-on AI: data, training, prediction and responsible use
  • The engineering design process, from idea to tested robot
  • Collaboration, communication and presenting their work

Pre-Engineering

Advanced Engineering & AI

Competition-grade robotics on the VEX V5 platform: metal structures, smart motors and an AI Vision Sensor that recognizes objects on the field. Students code autonomous routines in Python and C++ and can compete in the VEX V5 Robotics Competition.

  • Mechanical design with metal structures
  • Python and C++ with VEXcode, from driver control to full autonomy
  • AI vision: object detection, color codes and AprilTags
  • Leadership, teamwork and a head start on STEM careers

The core pathway

Eight levels, each one a step up.

Our signature course sequence takes students from fundamental principles to designing technology of their own. Every level builds on the one before.

Foundation

F1 – F4 · Motorized machines
F1

Fundamental Principles

Core science behind how things stand, move and turn.

F2

Applying Principles

Putting those principles to work in real mechanisms.

F3

Problem Solving

Open challenges that call for students' own designs.

F4

Team Spirit

Bigger builds planned, divided and finished together.

Advanced

R1 – R4 · Programmable robots & AI
R1

Exploring New Technologies

Controllers, sensors and the basics of code.

R2

Scientific Research

Testing, measuring and improving robot behavior.

R3

Exploring Information

Robots that sense, decide and respond, with AI.

R4

Building the Future

Original robots that solve real problems.

AI × Robotics

Growing up with AI. Learning to build it.

Our children will live and work alongside AI. Robotics makes it tangible: students don't just use AI, they see how it senses, learns and decides, and they build it into machines they control.

Ages 3–5

Thinking like a computer

Sequences, patterns and cause and effect: the computational thinking every coder and AI builder starts with.

Ages 6–9

Machines that sense

Block coding and first AI ideas: how a machine takes in information and turns it into a decision.

Ages 9–14

Building with AI

Students experiment with AI hands-on: data, training and prediction, plus where AI gets it wrong and why that matters.

Ages 15–18

AI in the real world

Robots that see: AI vision for object detection, coded in Python and C++ to run fully autonomous competition routines.

Competitions & camps

From first robot to the world stage.

We coach our teams and travel with them, from local qualifiers to state championships and international events. Competition teaches what a classroom can't: real deadlines, real teamwork and staying calm under pressure.

Our approach

Play with purpose. Learning that lasts.

Every class follows the same proven arc, so children are engaged from the first minute and leave understanding the science behind what they built.

01

Hands-on discovery

A game or real-life scenario opens the lesson and leads into the science behind it.

  • Game-led
  • Scenario-guided
  • Life experience
02

Guided building

Teachers trained in mechanical engineering and robotics coach each student through the build and the reasoning.

  • Guided learning
  • Teacher-assisted
03

Meaningful mastery

Students test, fail, fix and improve, so the concept is truly theirs.

  • Learning by playing
  • Learning by doing
  • Learning from mistakes
